I am quickly learning that I will not be able to keep track of all the random things that happen to me in a days time. Spain is an interesting country no doubt, but strange things just happen here. Emily and I become friends with staff members of random restaurants and shopping centers which is not a normal occurrence for most people who come here to study, but somehow we make it happen... we make it happen enough to get free food at places even. But today, we went to plaza mayor again where sometimes there are people dressed up like random cartoon characters. They typically don't talk but today... Pooh Bear said "hola" to us. One of the funniest things I have ever heard.
We went shopping after class today because we have learned the hard way that we did not bring cool enough clothes here because let me tell you... it's HOT. As much as I don't enjoy sweating 24/7 it gives us a great excuse to go shopping :)
Then we met some friends at one of our favorite cafes for cafe con leche and it was great as always. Then after a quick siesta we went off to mingle with some friends at a school function.
We also explored Sol and Plaza Mayor again tonight and discovered that el cortes ingles... a shopping center, is by far the most massive shopping center ever. I didn't even make it up to the last few floors... we were tired by about the 5th if that tells you anything. Incredible.
So, as Emily and I were waiting for Kimberly and Caitlin we sat on a bench and took pictures and started to notice the people next to us. We heard the man speak French and we know that the two girls with him were from Korea, but they were speaking English to each other... in Spain. Crazy. Mind boggling really.
On to the highlight of my day. When Kim and Caitlin got there we went to get some helado (ice cream.) Let me describe to you what is in the picture above. Are you ready? Cheesecake ice cream with strawberries. Yep, you read that correctly. My favorite dessert in ice cream form, can life get any better than that? Yes, it can but let me tell you this came pretty close to being my favorite ice cream ever. Homemade peach still wins, but wow...
Oh Emilia, she's the best.
ok now pretend to laugh... hahahahhaaa. Tonight was fun muñeca....herm:)
