Blue skies and sunshine!

We woke up this morning and much to our surprise there was a new twist to our breakfast! Instead of 2 pieces of white bread and jelly and mister choc, we had 1 piece of white bread and 2 baby croissants! We were so excited for a different carb! So we left thinking, man, it’s going to be a great day, and it has been a great day… but it’s been HOT. We went on an excursion today to Toledo, which is just south of Madrid. It’s beautiful but it’s on a hill, many hills actually and it’s very hot. The culture and significance of this city is phenomenal though. Toledo has become what it is today because of Jewish, Muslim and Christian influence—it’s indescribably beautiful.

See?

Here is our randomness for the day:

-When I was in Toledo a Chinese couple who were speaking very little English tried asking me to take their picture. The only reason I knew they wanted me to take their picture is because they put the camera in my hand. Anyways, I said "si" and they looked at me like I was crazy. Then I preceded to count to 3 in Spanish while taking the picture and they laughed at me. They didn't know Spanish... But they knew English... What's my native language again?

- We got free food from our favorite pizza man at the Cafeteria after he gave us besos when we walked in today. He loves us.

-I spilled my cup of ice on the floor in the Cafeteria and wanted to cry. Ice is very dear to me here.

- Emily got called out for having "bad manners" because she had her feet propped on a chair. The man then kept talking in Spanish about how it is different in our country and blah blah blah. We understood every word.

- Our pizza man friend asked us what we were doing tonight... we said we were going back to our house to go to bed because we were tired. He told us we were 85 year old women.

- When we walked in tonight our Madre (without looking at us as we entered) asked if we went to the disco-tech tonight. We chuckled and said no (because we were wearing gym shorts and a tank top) she then looked at us and said oh..."did you go play sports." HAHAHA we just laughed...
