A flight over Madrid

Well yesterdays activities left me exhausted with rosy cheeks and sunburned shoulders but todays left me with a new respect for God's creation and tired legs. Emily and I went to visit a friend of ours church this morning. It was a very interesting church experience but great too. then we came back and ate lunch... together we drank a 2 liter fanta (much better here than home, I'm just saying.) After lunch we participated in our favorite Spanish tradition of a siesta for about an hour and then went to visit a missionary and Samford grad at Casa de campo. There were thousands of Ecuadorians in this beautiful park and we got to mingle with them and talk with them about why they are here. It was fabulous.

Then we decided to find the Teleferico. Once we got there it was great but the getting there part was rather painful... literally. We walked miles it seemed like to get there (uphill) but it was worth it. It's basically a ski lift which takes you over Madrid. That's right, I flew over Madrid today. It was beautiful. We could see the palace, gardens, fields, hills, mountains, and the city all from above. It was beautiful.

This was taken from the sky, yes from the sky by me in the little floating box

A beautiful rose garden with the Palace in the background
A beautiful park we passed on the way to the metro
